About this Event
Natural Areas Conservancy will host a Super Steward: Trail Maintainer training on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Alley Pond Park. If you are attending, please fill out this volunteer waiver. Note: Every attendee must fill out waiver. If you have others joining, please ensure they fill out the waiver above as well.
Location: Alley Pond Park Adventure Course Parking Lot (Queens, Flushing, NY 11364)
Time: 10am - 1pm
During this training you will learn:
- How to navigate using Citywide Trails Team trail maps
- How to identify and assess trail conditions
- Ways to mitigate trail concerns
- Plant identification and invasive/non-native species management techniques
- Standard trail corridor dimensions & how to prune native vegetation using basic arboriculture methods
What should you bring:
- A water bottle
- Weather appropriate clothing
- Long pants
- Sturdy, closed toe shoes
