The eighth annual All-World Awards, presented by Bill Knight Automotive, will be on Thursday, June 20.The banquet will be held in the Cox Business Convention Center’s Legacy Hall in downtown Tulsa.
All-World Awards honor outstanding area performers in high school sports. The banquet will start at 6:30 p.m., with a social hour and registration starting at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets for the All-World Awards banquet cost $75 and are on sale at allworldawards.com. For the fifth year in a row, the All-World Awards are sponsored by Bill Knight Automotive.
The Tulsa World has awarded more than $170,000 in scholarships over the past seven years at the event.
“The All-World Awards is when we take a moment and celebrate everything that is special about high school athletics,” said Jason Collington, editor of the Tulsa World. “No one covers high school sports like the Tulsa World and we are so happy to continue this event and put the spotlight on the incredible students, coaches and programs in our area. If you support high school sports, I hope you will join us or help sponsor the event so we can give those who deserve recognition a night they will never forget.”
Athletes/players of the year will be honored from finalists in football, volleyball, softball, cross country, basketball, wrestling, swimming, baseball, golf, soccer, tennis and track and field.
Selections for the athlete of the year in 20 varsity high school sports will be announced, and winners also will be announced for other awards that honor the top overall athletes of the year, coaches, comeback, inspirational and scholar athletes, as well as a lifetime achievement award winner.
All-World nomination forms in each sport are emailed to metro coaches. Schools within 60 miles of downtown Tulsa or any school within 75 miles of downtown in a town with a population larger than 5,000 are considered metro-area schools. Freshmen through seniors are eligible.
