April is recognized as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). It is a time when communities across the nation come together to raise public awareness about sexual violence, promote prevention efforts, and support survivors. For the past 12 years, STAR has been committed to ending sexual violence and supporting survivors across 15 parishes in Central and Southeast Louisiana.Thousands in Louisiana are affected each year, and to honor our mission, we are hosting “All the STARs are Blooming,” a drag show dinner performance and fundraising event, to raise money for our vital programs and services while promoting awareness and education about sexual violence.
