About this Event
All Scout Nano Day is sponsored by the International Institute for Nanotechnology at Northwestern University. The day includes presentations by graduate students and professors on “What is Nanotechnology?” and “Being a Scientist,” demonstrations of high-end laboratory equipment, and hands-on activities that illustrate nanoscience concepts. It also includes an informational session for parents on how to encourage and support their children’s interest in science and engineering.
Each troop is invited to present a poster (prepared in advance) on a nanotechnology concept or discovery. A team of graduate students will review the posters for content and creativity, and awards will be given. The day concludes with a pizza party and poster award ceremony.
Tickets are required for Scouts and accompanying adults. We suggest a maximum of two adults and 10 Scouts per Troop to allow as many Scout participants as possible. If you need more than 10 tickets for Scouts, please contact Mike Kleppinger at [email protected].
We know that Scouts' schedules are dynamic. If your head count changes, please update your registration information here as soon as possible so that we can work to fill all seats with science-enthused Scouts!
