About this Event
We are looking for women who arrived in Reading from another country between 1940 and 1990 and would like to share their stories for a community art project.
Do you like crafts, sewing, chatting, making new friends, sharing craft skills?
We would love you to come to a new group to share the stories of you and/or your family's journey to Reading and textiles that you brought with you. You can join in or simply listen.
Bring your sewing, knitting, crochet, any craft or just come for a chat.
The weekly workshops will be a welcoming space to share stories, memories, textile techniques and learn from others. You are welcome to work on your own craft or contribute to a collaborative piece. We will gather the stories and exhibit them at the Museum of English Rural Life in 2025.
Join us on Fridays 9.30 - 11.30am at Reading Museum
