Contact Improvisation (CI) is ever evolving and each person brings to their dance a unique combination of background and interests. Some focus on it being a creative and expressive dance form, others explore what it is like to be in contact with yourself and another person. In this class we’ll work with safely having fun by the kinesthetic learning of connection, being off balance, and counterbalancing. One component of safety in CI that we will explore is extending one’s awareness to include your connection to the earth, partner and environment. Listening for and respecting boundaries and limits, your own and others, is integral to the practice. John Bainbridge's passion for CI started with a class in 1990 and he’s been a student of the form ever since. He comes to share what he’s learned and facilitate student's exploration of their interests in the moment.

Preregistration required.
$48 per six-week session for Orange County residents, additional $27 fee for out-of-county residents.
