These sessions are only for women planning to birth in Sheffield. Please only book onto this session if you will be in the third trimester, more courses will be available in the following months.
Your ticket will admit you and your birth partner.
MORNING SESSION will cover;
Introductions
Changes to the body in late pregnancy,
How to recognise your labour is beginning,
Coping strategies for early labour and how your birth partner can make a difference.
COFFEE BREAK 11.15-11.30
The stages of labour and what may happen
The Pain Relief available to help you along the labour journey
Induction of labour and Caesarean birth.
LUNCH Break - 12.45-13.30
AFTERNOON SESSION:
The Birth and Meeting your baby for the first time.
Skin to skin and the Golden hour
Feeding choices and support available
Handling your New born, techniques to help baby settle.
TEA BREAK- 14.45-15.00
Caring for your baby Responsively and Safely
Nappy Changing
How to recognise your baby may be unwell.
