About this Event
In this all-Brahms program, former Dean of the School of Music Robert Blocker joins the Orchestra as the soloist in Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1, a piece which seamlessly combines pianistic flair and orchestral grandeur in a work of uncompromising majesty and charm. On the second half, the Orchestra undertakes Brahms’ monumental Fourth Symphony — called “one of the supreme creative acts of the Romantic era” — an exquisite blend of heart and mind, of profound depth and immense power.
