About this Event
Join our resident birding enthusiast for a morning walk to enjoy the avian visitors of this Highlands Region. We will spend time listening and watching birds making their migratory journeys southward, making identifications and observations about behavior and habitat during the cooler seasons of the year. All skill levels are welcome to attend!
What to Expect: This walk will be on a wide trail of natural surfaces; there may be rocks and tree roots. This trail is relatively flat and has minimal elevation gain. There is a port-a-john on site. This event is recommended for ages 10 and up (participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).
What to Bring: Please bring binoculars if you have them, drinking water, and any snacks or personal supplies you may want. Dress for the weather and wear appropriate shoes. If you do not have binoculars, some will be available to use. Field guides will also be available to borrow at the event.
Event Leader Bio: Sarah Gotwols is a Lancaster County native with a passion for birding and enthusiasm for educating the public on the importance of conservation and protecting wild spaces. Sarah has spent countless hours on both land and water, observing and learning about bird behavior and local habitat, identifying avian species across local preserves, waterways, and beyond. Sarah is the Volunteer Coordinator at Lancaster Conservancy and is a board member for the Lancaster County Bird Club.
Animal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home.
Refund Policy: If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket, refund requests must be made at least 48 hours before the event.
Cancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine, with cancellation for severe weather made at the time of the event. If the Conservancy reschedules the event, attendees will be emailed, and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date. If the Conservancy cancels the event, attendees will be notified via email when possible and refunded.
