On Saturday, November 16th at 1pm, the Adopt A Stream Foundations’ Streamkeeper Academy presents All About Beavers at the Northwest Stream Center in Snohomish County’s McCollum Park (600 - 128th Street SE, Everett, WA 98208). “Sammy the Salmon” kicks off the event describing why beaver dams are great rearing habitat for juvenile salmon and trout and beneficial to a wide range of wildlife. Then, the audience will get to see the IMAX movie Beavers.
”The whole family will enjoy the Beavers movie,” says Adopt A Stream Foundation Director, Tom Murdoch. “Everyone will be able to take a virtual swim with beavers and see the beautiful underwater habitat of one of nature’s greatest eco-system engineers.” The setting of this wonderful short (31 minute) movie is a pristine forest and stream in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The film follows the lives of a family of beavers. You will be able to watch baby beavers called kits grow and play and, along with their parents, transform the world around them. Beavers has played to over 14 million viewers and delighted audiences all over the world.
Following the movie, Murdoch will be joined by Fred the Head, a 69 lb beaver skull. They will use their “telepathic powers” to answer all questions beaver! Don’t delay in registering for this event or you will miss “the best dam movie you ever saw!"
