Jessica Ackerman is the executive director of Local Motives, a nonprofit creating opportunities for connection and belonging through community projects and public space activation. She leads the operation and programming of Citizens Alley, a year-round public plaza that brings people together through live music, public art, community gatherings, and everyday connection. Jessica is also co-owner of Aksal Group, a small family-run development company that renovates downtown buildings and reimagines underutilized spaces. Her work centers on creating places where people feel a sense of belonging, pride, and possibility.
