About Aliya:
Aliya Kanani is an award-winning comedian and Canadian Academy Award–nominated actress based in LA. Her solo hour, Where You FROM, From?, has sold out internationally, winning Best of Fest and Patron’s Pick. Aliya has toured globally, performing at Just For Laughs, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, NBC’s Breakout Festival, Johannesburg International Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe. Her comedy can be heard on CBC LOL Network and SiriusXM. She was a finalist in Just For Laughs’ Standup and Pitch competition and wrote on the sketch comedy series Abroad. Nominated for Best Lead Actress for Scarborough, Aliya continues expanding her work in film and television.
