Aliso Canyon Trail run (San Fernando Valley)

This run is geared towards beginner and moderate trail runners. My organizers and I will be leading a trail run through Aliso Canyon in Granada Hills (San Fernando Valley).

The run is approximately 5.5 miles long starting at the Aliso Canyon Park parking lot off Rinaldi and it will follow the horse trails to Tampa Blvd and back. It will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 8:00 AM. We expect this run to take around 2 -2.5 hours. This is a good event for someone who does not want to run alone or wants to learn the trails in the surrounding area. All of my organizers have years' experience in trail runs. There will be a couple good sized hills that we have to climb. We will be limiting the number of attendees so the organizers and I can safely keep track of the runners and not overcrowd the trail. We will leave no one behind. Water and snacks will be provided before, during, and after the run.

We will keep an eye on the weather for that weekend. If we get an intense heat wave, high winds or rain, we will cancel the run due to safety concerns.

All ages are welcome, but anyone under 18 must come with a legal guardian.

The day of the run my organizers and I will be wearing red shirts in the parking lot near the park benches.

Time: Leave time is 8 A.M. Please try to get there a few minutes early so we can do a quick safety briefing. Should take 2 - 2.5 hrs.

Where to meet: The parking lot in the Aliso Canyon Park.
Distance: About 5.5 miles out and back with hills.

Difficulty: Beginner to moderate trail runners.

Restrooms and water fountains: Yes (in the parking lot). Please do not leave anything of value in your vehicles. Burglaries have been reported in the area.

Parking: Free

Dangers to watch out for: Rattlesnakes, coyotes, tarantulas, skunks, stinging insects, and uneven ground that can cause falls.
