We welcome you to join us for an intimate night of poetry & storytelling from local poet & trans activist Alisha Richard! Alisha is a 2-time slam-winning poet who was selected as the feature poet for the 2024 Poets Underground Anthology 2, allowing her to perform her work across San Diego. She began living authentically as a woman in early 2023, and her transition inspired a venture into poetry and spoken word performance to share her journey. Alisha’s Light details the first year of her transition- a heartwarming story of self-acceptance and her journey to authenticity.

Tickets are $12 in advance and $18 at the door. There will be limited seating for accessibility purposes, as well as standing room. The first half of the night will be a ‘mini set’ of Alisha’s Light, a blended poetry & storytelling performance that highlights Alisha’s first year of transition. There will be a brief intermission followed by another short performance. Tickets for this event are very limited since the performance will be hosted indoors. The shop will be open for browsing at the conclusion of the performance, and we encourage you to stay & mingle! Attendees of the performance will receive a discount at checkout.
