About this Event
In Alisa Kwitney's latest graphic collaboration with artist Mauricet, Science fiction meets family memoir in 1950s Greenwich Village, home of artists, musicians, writers—and the extraterrestrial spores that are secretly taking them over! Alisa will talk with author Sam Rebelein about HOWL and about Sam's new book Galloway's Gospel - a shockingly fun wild ride of horrors in which Rebelein takes us back to Renfield County and tells the story of two Rachels—one who mistakenly starts a cult at her local high school and one who tries to dismantle it ten years later.
Alisa Kwitney was an editor at DC Comics/Vertigo and is the Eisner-nominated author of graphic novels, romantic women’s fiction, and urban fantasy. She was one of the authors of A Flight of Angels, which made YALSA’s Top Ten List for Great Graphic Novels for Teens, and the YA graphic novel Token, named a highlight of the Minx imprint by PW along with Mystik U: Freshman Year Enchantments.. Alisa has an MFA from Columbia University. Her thesis, Till the Fat Lady Sings, a comedy of manners about college and eating disorders, made The New York Times’ new and noteworthy in paperback list.
Sam Rebelein is the Bram Stoker Award–nominated author of Edenville and the short story collection The Poorly Made and Other Things. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Goddard College, with a focus on Memoir and Short Fiction.
