The John & Alice Coltrane Home announces 2024 as the "Year of Alice," celebrating Alice Coltrane's legacy with performances by harpist Alina Bzhezhinska, composer Brian Jackson, saxophonist Tony Kofi. They will highlight Coltrane's compositions and their own works and Alina Bzhezhinska's album "Inspiration" featuring Tony Kofi is a tribute to them. Their 2017 performance at the EFG London Jazz Festival with Pharoah Sanders was nominated for a 2018 Jazz FM Award, and they have since performed at venues like Ronnie Scott’s and the Paris Jazz Festival. For Brian Jackson, known for his work with Gil Scott-Heron, the music of the Coltranes has served as a beacon of inspiration throughout his illustrious career. The ensemble, including Menelik Claffey on bass and Matt Holmes on drums, will present classics like “Journey in Satchidananda” and “Shiva Loka.” 🎤🗓️ Thursday 24th & Friday, 25th October
