Algomystica lädt die Society for Nontrivial Pursuits (S4NTP) zu einem Konzert mit ihrem neu entwickelten Soundsystem ein. Im Laufe eines Semesters, in dem verschiedene Konzepte von Sound-System-Design erforscht wurden, sammelte S4NTP ungenutzte Lautsprecher, und erschuf ein eigenes Lautsprecherorchester, bestehend aus mehr als 30 Lautsprechern, von großen HiFi-Boxen über professionelle Studiomonitore bis hin zu kaputten Spielzeuglautsprechern. Das System wird von einer Open-Source-Software gesteuert, die ebenfalls vom Kollektiv entwickelt wurde.
Der Abend präsentiert eine Reihe von Performances, die unterschiedliche Ansätze der Live-Raumklanggestaltung mit dem Soundsystem zeigen. Dabei kommen vielfältige Methoden zum Einsatz, die Sensoren, analoge Elektronik und softwarebasierte Klangsynthese miteinander verbinden.

Komplexe Verhaltensweisen – ob in Rückkopplungssystemen, chaotischen Schaltungen, sozialen Systemen oder Computerprogrammen – sind faszinierende Forschungsgegenstände. Die Society for Non Trivial Pursuits (aktuelle, ehemalige und angehende Studierende, Alumni*ae, Lehrende und assoziierte Personen der Klasse Generative Art / Computational Art an der UdK Berlin) erforscht die Möglichkeiten solcher Systeme im Kontext experimenteller Performance.

Algomystica ist eine Veranstaltungsreihe mit Fokus auf experimentelle Performancepraktiken – von Computermusik und freier Improvisation über erweiterte und präparierte akustische Instrumente bis hin zu Live Coding und Circuit Bending und allem, was dazwischenliegt.

Algomystica invites the Society for Nontrivial Pursuits (S4NTP) for a concert on their newly built sound system. Over the course of a semester exploring multiple concepts of sound system design, S4NTP collected unused speakers to create their own loudspeaker orchestra, composed of more than 30 loudspeakers, ranging large big Hifi boxes, professional studio monitors to broken toy speakers. The system is controlled by an open source software also developed by the collective.
The evening will see a series of performances showcasing different approaches to live spatialization using the sound system, combining a variety of approaches involving sensors, analog electronics, and software synthesis.
S4NTP
Complex behaviors, whether in feedback systems, chaotic circuits, social systems or computer programs are fascinating objects of study. The Society for Non Trivial Pursuits (present, past and future students, alumni/ae, teachers, and associates of the class Generative Art / Computational Art at UdK Berlin) explores the possibilities of such systems for experimental performance.
