The Algoma Area Education Foundation and Algoma Venture Academy are proud to present a pickleball tournament fundraiser aimed at supporting the educational experiences of students. The tournament will take place on February 8th, 2025, at the Algoma Area High School Wellness Center and Gym.This exciting event will feature a round-robin format with up to 96 participants (48 teams) competing across three time slots and six courts. Championship matches will be determined based on records after round-robin play, and winners will receive medals. Refreshments will be available for purchase on-site.
Categories and Time Slots
The tournament will include the following categories based on skill level and age:
* Beginner (3.0 and below): 16 team slots, playing from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm
* Intermediate (3.5 and below): 16 team slots, playing from 8:00 am to 10:30 am
* Advanced (4.25 and below): 8 team slots, playing from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
* Age 55+ (3.5 and below): 8 team slots, playing from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Please note that the number of teams and the format may be adjusted based on the number of entries. However, we will strive to adhere as closely as possible to the outlined schedule and structure.
This tournament is intended to be a fun and engaging event that raises funds to support student global learning experiences in Costa Rica and scholarships for student educational pursuits.
