“Alex Garnett has all the individuality, skill and stamina every star soloist needs.”
— Evening Standard
To many of you, Alex needs no introduction. Known, loved, and deeply respected across the jazz world, he is a musician of rare individuality — steeped in pure jazz pedigree, blessed with an extraordinary ear, and carrying a wonderful, mischievous humour that lights up every room he enters.
Son of the late, great Willie Garnett, Alex is also the charismatic host of Late Night at Ronnie Scott’s. His career has taken him to more than 30 countries and the world’s most iconic jazz venues — Birdland, Blue Note, Vittoria, Montreux, Oslo — sharing the stage with giants including Wynton Marsalis, Sir John Dankworth, Pete King, Humphrey Lyttelton, Van Morrison and even The Rolling Stones.
His discography is vast… one sometimes wonders if there is anyone he hasn’t played with.
And I am so glad he is my friend.
What to Expect
A night of festive sparkle, jazz classics, warmth, friendship, mince pies, and perhaps even a dusting of Christmas magic on our intimate Patchworks stage.
