The Alex Film Society is back with their 2024 film series at the Doctors House. So - film fans bring your chairs, blankets and picnic dinners and enjoy these FREE screenings in the park. Three classic films will be shown this summer in partnership with Northwest Glendale Homeowner's Assn, the Glendale Historical Society and Brand Associates.Gates open at 5:30 and the film begins at 7:00
This second film in the series on July 13 is Hosted by The Glendale Historical Society. In researching films with an historical connection to Glendale, TGHS got excited about the 1954 film noir thriller Crime Wave staring Sterling Hayden, Phyllis Kirk and a young actor named Charles Buchinsky, (who found greater fame as Charles Bronson).
By all accounts, one of the hidden gems of the noir genre, this film features distinctive Los Angeles, Burbank and Glendale locations, including a dramatic robbery and chase sequence down Brand Boulevard!
Glendale’s Community Services and Parks will once again for provide their 17 x 10 foot LED projection screen. Image quality and stereo sound has never been better.
