Alec Lewis Group & Bad Monk RECORDING LIVE at the Van Dyck

Both the grooves & the vibes will be at an all time high at the Van Dyck on Saturday, February 28th as we invite two of the Capital Region's top funk bands, ALG & Bad Monk, to the Historic Stockade for an extra special live recorded 518 double-bill!

Alec Lewis Group is an Albany, NY based four-piece playing original songs and compositions by producer, sound engineer, and frontman Alec Lewis. The group mixes contemporary funk with guitar-driven classic rock and blues, all with a slick pop finish.

Bad Monk is a an Albany, NY based funk/soul/jazz/fusion group lead by bassist Brad Monkell. A "funk band playing more than just funk", this talented group lays down killer performances at Night Clubs, Jazz Clubs, and everywhere in-between.

The Van Dyck in Schenectady's Historic Stockade District has been a home for live entertainment since 1947, and in 2024 we hosted our first shows on the second floor at 237 Union St as the Van Dyck Music Club. In additon to reestablishing the Van Dyck as the Capital Region's premier location for Live Jazz, the VDMC is also a home to Comedy, Drag, Burlesque, M**der Mystery Theatre, and high quality perfomances of all genres & style.
