About this Event
Fifty Years after the passing of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, our safety group is holding a seminar on the practicalities of managing health and safety in modern day. It will discuss what happens when things go wrong, why they happen and what lessons should we have learned. We will discuss important aspects of everyday activities such things as asbestos and legionella in a practical, ‘matter of fact’ manner. As we all know from Grenfell, fire safety is strategically important, that should be paramount. Health is critical to the wellbeing of our workforce and that will be considered in detail.
The seminar is planned to give ample opportunity for debate, questions and answers on the topics covered. In each subject examples will be given of “real projects” where contractor/management control has perhaps, not been effective – leading to problems. Don’t miss this practical examination of principles and procedures.
The seminar runs from 9.30am until 3.30pm and the cost of attending is £85 per delegate for members of the South and West Wales Safety Group and £100 for non-members (which includes membership of the group for 2023). The stadium has plenty of free parking and lunch and refreshments are included.
