Alchemy Theatre and The West Virginia Shakespeare Festival present - AUDITIONS for our summer tent pole production of William Shakespeare's LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, directed by RICHARD PERLOFF!Mr. Perloff will be flying in to hold auditions on TUESDAY, MAY 20th at 7PM at Alchemy Theatre's Geneva Kent Center for the Arts. Callback, if needed, will be Wednesday, May 21st at 7PM.
WHO IS THE DIRECTOR:
Richard Perloff is a theatre artist, actor, director, teacher and Shakespeare scholar from Los Angeles, California. He has been a guest speaker on several different occasions at The West Virginia Shakespeare Festival. He is currently directing HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN at the Torrance Theatre Company, April 5 - 26, in Torrance, CA.
THE PLOT:
Love's Labour's Lost is one of William Shakespeare's early comedies. It follows the King of Navarre and his three companions as they attempt to swear off the company of women for three years in order to focus on study and fasting. Their subsequent infatuation with the Princess of France and her ladies makes them immediately reconsider their pact.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR AUDITIONS:
Please prepare a one- to two-minute classical monologue in VERSE.
