This Month's Theme: Alchemy- finding the gold
Facilitator: Holly Brocklebank is a lover of embodied & ecstatic dance along with seasonal energetics. As a 5 Element Acupuncturist, Holly explores themes in her facilitation and playlists inspired by the Chinese Medicine 5 Element wheel of the year connected to season, organs, meridian systems & archetypes.
As the golden hues of Autumn surround us, we are invited into a sacred dance of transformation—of letting go, refining, and distilling what is truly essential.
In the Five Element framework, Autumn is governed by the Metal Element, the energy of alchemy, clarity, and purification. Just as the trees release their leaves, we are called to shed the old, creating space for wisdom, inspiration, and deeper alignment with our true essence.
This dance is an exploration of alchemy in motion—moving through the themes of release, refinement, resilience…finding the gold in what we are INspired by & value.
Through free-flowing movement, we attune to the energy of the Lungs and Large Intestine, the organs that help us take in what nourishes us and let go of what no longer serves.
This is a time to breathe deeply, embrace the rhythm of change, and embody the sacred dance of transformation.
Join us as we move, breathe, and surrender into the magic of Autumn, embracing the balance of structure and fluidity, strength and softness, release and renewal. The journey will close with a live hand pan sound meditation.
Arrive at 3:55 pm for a for a 4:00 pm start
Bring: a water bottle, and a yoga mat.
This dance is an alcohol-free event / LGBTQI friendly / 18+ event
Once the music has begun, we encourage you to keep talking to a minimum so that everyone can enjoy the embodiment!
**Please note, although we are using a church hall, this is a non-religious, non-denominational event.
ABOUT US:
The Canberra Ecstatic Dance Collective monthly dance offering is a safe and supportive space to express, release, and experience joy through movement.
Each dance has a different theme and a different facilitator, BUT every dance will be a safe space to explore movement within a dynamic dance community.
MORE ABOUT THE DANCE:
These dances are lovingly curated to take you on a journey which peaks and brings you gently back down again. The purpose of this dance is to simply let go and let your body move you.
You may find yourself focusing on one part of your body, wanting to connect your body with the floor, or dance with another person (consensually!) You may wish to sit out or lie down and rest. You may feel emotion moving through you.
Whatever is intrinsically and authentically emerging from within is what we are opening up to and creating space for. Uninhibited movement is encouraged, whilst being respectful of others in the space.
