Dear Albuquerque Dia de Los Muertos Familia, With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that the 2023 Albuquerque Dia de Los Muertos Parade and Festival is officially cancelled for 2023. We aim to start fresh in the new year and host a parade in the fall of 2024, November 9, 2024 to be exact!
We have met incredible leaders and a new familia, but difficulties related the parade route, the Civic Plaza plans, and other external factors have lead us to make this very difficult decision.
Join us for our 1st Annual ALBUQUERQUE DIA DE LOS MUERTOS Festival & Parade.
It is a FREE family event for the public..! Sponsorship, vendors & parade float opportunities are available..!
Albuquerque Dia De Los Muertos is in partnership with: Hispano Chamber of Commerce - Tourism & Convention Department, National Hispanic Cultural Center, AGM Radio, Telemundo Nuevo Mexico, City of Albuquerque Civic Plaza/Convention Center, Navarro Group, Vega's Natural Foods, and XY Staffing. The Office of the Mayor Tim Keller & the Office of the Mexican Consul Norma Ang, would be represented in the event.
The Inaugural Albuquerque Dia de los Muertos parade is an exciting tradition for the State of New Mexico, with deep Mexican roots. With this heartfelt parade, it is our mission to celebrate the living and honor our beloved.
No matter who you are, no matter where you are from, we want you to attend the parade and festival. If there is something we all share is the love and grief for our family and friends who left us, and in this Dia de los Muertos, we are all one.
This historic parade and festival will begin at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (festival 2pm - 6pm), while the parade will step off at 7pm on 4th Street and end at the Albuquerque Civic Plaza at 8pm, where a second Festival will be held at the Civic Plaza from 6pm - 10pm. Join us for an evening filled with live music, a beautiful parade, delicious concessions, fun arts & crafts, Katrina custom contest, and so much more!
As we celebrate life, some of our respected leaders of Albuquerque, New Mexico will be honored for their service to this great city.
For those wanting to participate in the Parade, we ask for your attire to be authentic, full of pageantry and beauty. While this is a celebration, we want to keep the tradition as it is meant to be, and to have fun in a safe environment for all the adults and children that will be joining us. With that being said we humbly reserve the right to deny entrance/participation to anyone.
This parade will be open to all participants who want to join us in celebration.
Please join us for a day filled with celebration of death, culture, life, and love! Let's make this event the culmination of all the other Dia De Los Muertos events around our city/state and let's come together to celebrate as One Community.
