Zach Sprowls is set to debut his latest album in a groundbreaking mixed media performance at The Shakes Space, located at the Marketplace at Steamtown in Scranton, PA. This event will showcase a unique fusion of music, visual arts, and live performance, highlighting Sprowls' creative collaboration with an array of talented local artists. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door for $15, or for a special early-bird pricing of $12 from now until Oct 11.
The evening will feature a performance at the piano of all the songs on Zach’s forthcoming neoclassical album, All Beginnings Are Hard, accompanied by a live string trio of NEPA’s finest string players (Leah Valenches, Juliet Valenches, and Peter Brubaker). Zach will be joined by musical friends: indie folk "singer-songwriter of uncommon depth," as hailed by George Graham of WVIA, Timothy Zieger; ambient vocalist Mystic Joy (Joy Zavada); as well as local power funk legends and newly-named, Greenfield III (Jesse Mower, Jon Ventre, and Jami Novak).
In addition to music, this immersive event will feature live painting by Christine Smith and custom visuals designed by Michael Nasser with audio support from Clyde Rosencrance of Republic Audio Studios, photography by Keith Perks of 1120 Creative, graphic design by Tony Susi, and a specially-made alcoholic drink by the host, Scranton Shakes.
This innovative performance marks a significant milestone in Zach Sprowls’ career, combining multiple art forms to offer an unparalleled cultural experience. In essence, this event isn't just about releasing an album—it's a celebration of our vibrant local arts community and a testament to the creative connections we can foster. Zach’s vision is to break down the artistic division that often separates us, creating a space where musicians, visual artists, and performers can come together and collaborate. This event is about more than just showcasing talent; it's about uniting diverse artistic voices and nurturing a collaborative spirit that strengthens our creative community as a whole.
This event is made possible with support from Lackawanna County and the City of Scranton.
