The Rhythm Doctor has been DJing continuously since 1978, encompassing all the beautiful genres we love. He began his work 46 years ago in Coventry, playing punk & reggae. Regulars amongst his audience were all the members of The Specials; he was to feature in the 2tone band,The Swinging Cats as percussionist & singer.
From 1982-5 he branched out into the jazz-funk ‘All Dayer’ scenes in Birmingham and Nottingham, playing alongside Colin Curtis & Baz fe Jazz.Together with the latter, Rhythm Doctor toured Japan Djing over the next 2 years.
In 1986, he moved to London and established ‘The 3A’s’ Artists Against Apartheid club with Jerry Dammers, playing house. That got him work on Fantasy FM & at all the major raves around East London & South of England.
In 1990 Rhythm Doctor began spreading his vibes around Europe and landed in Estonia, where in 1997 he helped establish the emerging club music scene, bringing over many world-famous DJs to the club night ‘Mutant Disco’.
A morning/afternoon social with Chris Long (Rhythm Dr) and a first for us, where Chris will be Catching up with old friends & presenting his new album, which will be for sale of course.
