Abstract: This lecture will present a tour of Jerusalem through the eyes of Willibald of Eichstätt, the eighth-century traveler and later bishop of Eichstätt, based on the new, forthcoming translation of the Vita Willibaldi. In doing so, it will connect the Jerusalem that Willibald visited with the Jerusalem of today, to uncover the hidden places forgotten through the centuries and to revive the ghosts that once inhabited the city.
