Join SFU’s Vancity Office of Community Engagement and the SFU School of Communication on February 8 at 5:00 PM for an in-depth conversation with Alberto Toscano on his major new book, Late Fascism: Race, Capitalism and the Politics of Crisis.
This free event delves into Toscano’s latest book, highlighting the continued and necessary development of ongoing anti-fascist thought and organization. Toscano will be in dialogue with Gastón Gordillo, Lisa Lowe, and Jordy Rosenberg with Q&A moderation by Am Johal.
Alberto Toscano is Term Research Associate Professor at the School of Communication, SFU. He is also Professor of Critical Theory at the Department of Sociology, Goldsmiths, University of London, where he co-directs the Centre for Philosophy and Critical Thought.
Gastón Gordillo was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He graduated from the University of Buenos Aires (1990) and completed his PhD at the University of Toronto (1999).
Lisa Lowe is Samuel Knight Professor of American Studies and Professor of Ethnicity, Race, & Migration. An interdisciplinary scholar whose work is concerned with the analysis of race, immigration, capitalism, and colonialism.
Jordy Rosenberg is Professor of English at UMass Amherst and Associate Professor at the Department of English Language and Literatures, UBC.
