Join The Blue Mountains Grove for our Alban Eilir (Spring Equinox) Celebration on Saturday 13th September at 1pm in the Blue Mountains Organic Community Gardens, 10-12 Victoria St, Katoomba. This solar year we honing how our group likes to celebrate seasonal rituals. In the last couple of years we have used the seasonal celebration times to explore the local area, to share workshops on key ritual concepts, and look at the OBOD ritual forms. Our rituals will include some parts we have created together, some from the Gorsedd tradition and some of the OBOD material.
For Alban Eilir we will have a ritual with a meditation on the Irish myth of Boann, the Well of Segais and the sources of wisdom. If you are feeling inspired to share a Bardic offering (whether you are on the Bardic path of study or not), please bring it along. Poems, songs, stories that relate to the season and our local landscape are most welcome.
Themes for Alban Eilir include: awakening, moving into action, cleansing and clearing, coming into being, moving into the light (active/outward/physical) half of the year.
As always, we will begin with introductions and a chat about the season and the ritual, then we will have the ritual either in the stone circle, or at the fire circle depending on the weather. And we'll finish with some food, so bring along something to share if you can.
Feel free to dress up if you want to, but Druid-casual is also fine.
IN THE CASE OF WET WEATHER we will meet at a private venue. Contact Julie Brett either by messenger or text if you would like to join us. If it is your first time, we ask that you wait for a date when the weather is good and we will see you at the gardens.
