Join us for an in-person event with award-winning writer Alana Saab for the release of her debut novel Please Stop Trying to Leave Me. This event will be hosted in the Strand Book Store's 3rd floor Rare Book Room at 828 Broadway on 12th Street.

Twenty-seven-year-old Norma heads into her new therapist's office with one goal, to finish her manuscript. Her therapist has other topics in mind: Norma's recent mental breakdown, her inability to accept love from her girlfriend, the episodes of "oblivion" she's been experiencing since age four, and a diagnosis of depersonalization/derealization disorder. The conversations between Norma and her therapist, interspersed with Norma's short fiction and frantic Google searches, compose Alana Saab's honest, comedic, horrifying, and heart-wrenching debut about existing in today’s world.

Alana Saab is a literary writer and screenwriter. She holds a master of fine arts in fiction from The New School, a master’s degree in psychology from Columbia University, and her bachelor’s from New York University in the phenomenology of storytelling. She lives in New York with her partner. Please Stop Trying to Leave Me is her first novel.
