Alan Barnes is a multi-award winning saxophone and clarinet player and one of the London jazz scene’s perennials, respected educator and virtuoso soloist. Amongst his touring credits are Bryan Ferry, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra, Warren Vache and Humphrey Lyttleton. Joining Alan Barnes on clarinet and sax are Derrick Harris guitar, Mark Chandler on trumpet, Andrzej Baranek on piano, Jose Canha on bass and Paul Smith on drums, five of the leading jazz musicians in the North of England brought together to play new arrangements of music played by legendary clarinettist Benny Goodman.
Featuring many of Goodman’s most famous hits, including Don’t Be That Way, Let’s Dance, Air Mail Special, That’s a Plenty, Soft Winds, Sweet Georgia Brown, King Porter Stomp, and Sing, Sing, Sing, this band has been thrilling audiences both for listening and for dancing.
