About this Event
Teachers make decisions every day about literacy teaching and learning. Join us to increase the intentionality with which you make decisions related to literacy learning. Also, learn how to foster a greater sense of collective efficacy to address the literacy needs of students in grades K–12. This workshop will be led by Dr. Jenni Donohoo. Donohoo is a professional learning facilitator and author of five bestsellers. She has over 25 years of experience leading educational reform initiatives.
Participants will be able to:
- Learn strategies to enhance literacy skills for students in grades K–12.
- Learn how to build knowledge through impactful reading and writing strategies.
- Understand the surface, deep, and transfer phases of learning.
- Design experiences for each phase of learning based on individual student literacy needs.
- Assess the impact of teaching literacy to foster efficacy and determine next steps.
- Determine a concrete action plan for improved literacy outcomes.
