Once a year the greatest maestros of flame and forge congregate on a Texas ranch to demonstrate mastery of open fire cookery in a celebration known as Al Fuego. Hot Luck’s main event is an open-air celebration of the world’s oldest culinary art—live-fire cooking, with styles from culinary cultures of all kinds. Here, we ask chefs to keep it casual. We supply the best meats, the coldest beer, and the coolest cooking contraptions you’ve ever ogled. There isn’t another food event like this—the dishes are obsessively prepared, passionately executed, and a glimpse into what a cookout might be like if your favorite chef invited you over to their next backyard gathering.
