🎶🎵Ken Waldman comes to Black Birch Books in beautiful Wasilla at 5 pm, Friday, June 14, where he'll play fiddle, read (and recite) work from his many books, and tell stories about his time in state. He'll be happy to sign books and CDs after his performances.Ken moved to Fairbanks in 1985 to attend University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he graduated in 1988 with a degree in Creative Writing. Since then he's lived in Juneau, Sitka, Nome, back to Juneau, and then Anchorage, and has traveled extensively in state. Down South, he's made a living performing as Alaska's Fiddling Poet.

Ken Waldman has drawn on 38 years as an Alaska resident to produce poems, stories, and fiddle tunes that combine into a performance uniquely his. 12 CDs mix Appalachian-style string-band music with original poetry. 20 books include 16 poetry collections, a memoir, a children's book, a creative writing manual, and his newest, a novel, Now Entering Alaska Time. Since 1995 he's toured full-time, performing at leading festivals, concert series, arts centers, and clubs, including the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Dodge Poetry Festival, Woodford Folk Festival (Queensland, Australia).
