The 2nd Annual WKC-hosted AKRA / Hoosier Kartsport Road Racing Nationals at North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR). Located only a mile off I-95 near Roanoke Rapids, NC, just south of the Virginia/NC border, NCCAR is a fast and sweeping 2-mile course we race in the clockwise direction.
May 2023 marked karting's return to NCCAR after an approximate 10-year hiatus. We had a solid turnout with good competition last year, and we're aiming for a bigger and better event in 2024!
The full slate of AKRA classes will be offered including divisions for CIK 206, KA100, 125 TaG, 125 Shifter, SuperKarts, Yamaha and 2-cycle enduros, 2-cycle and Briggs Animal sprint-enduros, vintage karts and more.
Pit Pass Sales and Parking will be available Thursday evening, May 2 (times TBA). Friday, May 3 is full day of group practice from approx. 9am to 5pm. Saturday-Sunday, May 4-5 offer two rounds of morning group practice and approx. 8 race groups each afternoon.
This event is the season opener for the five-race AKRA National Road Racing Series, which visits NCCAR, Mid-Ohio, Nelson Ledges, Summit Point and Pittsburgh International in 2024.
The nearby city of Roanoke Rapids offers plenty of hotels and dining.
