Akia Uwanda, songstress extraordinaire, will be joined by guitarist Taylor Roberts in a concert on Monday evening, May 5, in the Waterworks in St. Augustine. Fresh from an incredible concert during Collage, they have agreed to return for another performance!Akia, a Jacksonville native, is classically and experientially trained. She has opened for Earth, Wind and Fire and Avery Sunshine and shared the stage with jazz greats, Gregory Porter and Kamasi Washington.
Taylor Roberts influences range from R&B, Classic Rock to Pop, and everything in between. He has appeared multiple times at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, has toured internationally with the Christian Tamburr Quintet, and has been hired by the Rolling Stones to play their private events.
