This class prepares you & your dog for the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test which is valuable for many different reasons – manners for dogs that are training to become therapy dogs, control for dogs getting ready to compete in dog sports, a goal for all pet dogs to achieve.
This AKC Canine Good Citizen class covers the following:
• Accepting a friendly strangers
• Sitting Politely for Petting
• Appearance and Grooming
• Out for a Walk (walking on a loose lead)
• Walking Through a Crowd
• Sit and Down on Command and Staying in Place
• Coming When Called
• Reaction to Another Dog
• Reaction to Distraction
• Supervised Separation
Dogs and their owners that are ready to sit the test will test on Week 6.
Class information:
• Enclosed indoor training location
• $240 per dog
• 6 week course
AKC Canine Good Citizen Class with Test- 2pm-2.45pm (8 months +)
This class specifically works towards the goals of the AKC CGC test, testing is in week 6 (for dogs and handlers that are ready- determined by the Head Trainer)
Please note that a class environment is not suitable for all dogs
Class dates: Saturdays
January 18th & 25th
February 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd
