Ajay's Band Night No. 72 will be held at The Oatley Hotel, 8 Oatley Avenue, Oatley. The date will be FRIDAY June 21, 2024 and will start at 8.00pm. There is a limit of bands that can play on the night and this is determined on a first in - first plays basis. This event usually fills up quickly, so please register to play ASAP, to avoid disappointment!
Please note that I will take "standby" band registrations, in case we get dropouts prior to the night.
How to Participate:
You need to pre-register your band. My definition of a band is a minimum of 3 people, one of which needs to be a drummer. Pre-recorded or sequenced backing tracks are NOT allowed. This night has to be 100% live! Band Members MUST be 18 years old or over.
We provide a quality backline for up to three guitarists and a Bass rig and of course a drum kit. Pedal boards are also supplied. Guitarists should just bring their guitars only and drummers need to bring their own sticks. Heavy hitting drummers SHOULD bring their own cymbals. Guitarists, DON'T bring your pedal board and think you can talk my into allowing you to use it!
Each band will get a MAXIMUM playing time of 25 minutes.
Please advise special requirements, i.e. Left handed drummers, multiple singers or requirements for keyboards and we'll try to accommodate you accordingly.
As usual, each band's performance will be recorded on video, audio and photos. This will be provided after the event, on request.
To register your band to play either PM me on FB or email me at [email protected]. Bands will be required to advise their planned setlists prior to the night, so that we don't get the same songs played several times. Priority will be given to the band that requests a specific song first!
Lastly, this event is NOT an event primarily to "showcase" your band, although I do take note of bands that participate in the Band night for future reference. This event is a "community" event and it's expected that players and supporters should attend and try to stay and support the other bands that play. For this reason, I also do not advise playing times prior to the night. Please do NOT request a particular playing time either.
The maximum number of bands we can accommodate will be 6. I will take names of more than 6 bands however and the extra bands will be "on standby". It's common for bands to drop out prior to the night due to various reasons, so if you are not in the initial 8 bands, it's still quite possible you will get to play!
Preference will be given to bands that have different players in them. Bands which feature the same group of musicians may be asked to combine their sets to allow more people to participate.
This event is about people getting together and having a fun night playing and listening to music. Prima Donnas need not apply!
