It's been 6 months. You've been waking up every Saturday morning dreaming of eating some of Mrs. Shirley's Hashbrown Casserole while listening to the wonderful sounds of airplanes flying overhead and taxing right next to your table to join you for breakfast. It’s been a long wait… and I know I’m not the only one having this dream. But great news! “Appetites, Airplanes and Automobiles” is back for 2024! If you are new to the area or to this event, I can sum it up like this… this is hands down the coolest way to start a weekend. So, here’s the drill… Breakfast starts at 8am (insider secret… come early). Just come to the Gallatin airport and look for the large hangar on the Left (where all the happy people are). Cost is only a $7 donation which goes to our local EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) Chapter who are your hosts and volunteers for this event. We do this to share our passion and excitement for General Aviation for our community and the next generation of aviators! We also welcome pilots from all over our extended area who fly in to show their awesome airplanes and fly home full of biscuits and gravy.
If that isn’t awesome enough, we have Young Eagle Flights every month for young future pilots from 8-18 years old. However, we only have a limited number of spots based off available pilots so register today. Just go http://youngeaglesday.org and put in your zip code. You’ll see our event to register at Music City Executive AP, EAA Chapter 1343. If it’s full for May, check the website soon for next month’s Young Eagle event and get in early.
But wait… there’s more! You got a cool car to show? Wanna make it cooler? Bring it to the airport and we’ll park it one the flight line for a car show… and VIP parking!
There is some construction work being done around the airport currently, so parking is best along Old Airport Road. If you need assistance or walking is difficult, come up to the airport gate and someone will direct you to closer parking.
This event is too good to be a “best kept secret” so please do us a favor and share this event! We truly love sharing aviation with our community we call home and it’s a thrill for us to see all the happy faces. You just can’t help but smile around an airplane.
