The Airbus Strong Wall and Floor is a pioneering wing testing structure designed for the extreme tolerances and cyclic loading of the aviation testing industry. Over a 25-year design life, the structure will be subjected to half a billion cycles of test loading. As structural engineer and lead consultant, the team from Buro Happold immersed themselves with Airbus’ technical specialists to gain a deep understanding of their requirements and developed them to be procured in a construction environment.
