Logging is frequently cited as the main threat to our old-growth forests, but mine sites threaten much larger areas than logging activities. A man who knows all about this is our guest speaker this month, Professor Kinsley Dixon, the 2016 WA Scientist of the Year. Amongst other achievements, he was Foundation Director of Science at Kings Park and Botanic Gardens for 32 years and is currently a director of the ARC Centre for Mining Restoration.
The aim of the A.I.R is to protect and advance the interests of retirees who wholly or partly fund their own retirement.
If you cant make it this month, we meet on the third Friday of each month.
Besides the meeting and morning tea we have guest speakers who embrace many interesting topics related to finance, travel, health, community and the special interests of members.
Visitors are welcome, and it is appreciated if attendees bring their own coffee mug and correct money ($2 – for members, $5 – for visitors). Enquiries to Margaret ([email protected]).
A sub group of A.I.R Investors will meet on Wednesday February 15th at 1.30pm, at the same venue. Enquiries to John ([email protected])
