The Air Guitar World Championships Final is a celebration of love and peace!
Who will be crowned as the Air Guitar World Champion 2025? The next World Champion will unravel once again at Rotuaari Square on Friday 22nd of August, starting from 8 PM when Canadian Zach ”Ichabod Fame” Knowles return to Oulu to defend his current title. The winner will be awarded with a unique Flying Finn guitar, handmade by Mr. Matti Nevalainen.
The culmination of the world-wide season of air guitar gathers the reigning National Champions and Dark Horses qualified the night before, for the battle of the Airiest title in the universe. The World Final offers performances of the world’s best air guitarists and magnificent show for both old and new friends of air guitar.
The event charms people around the world with its warm communal atmosphere year after year. You won't wanna miss this!
The event lasts approximately two (2) hours. As a tradition, at the end of the contest everyone will be asked to join in on playing air guitar to "Rockin’ in the Free World".
The Final will be live streamed online on our website.

FREE ENTRY!
The event has no age limit, however our hope is that especially younger children would only arrive accompanied by an adult. Please note that the Rotuaari Square can be fully packed with people.

ACCESSIBILITY
There is an elevated stand at the square, reserved only for people with disabilities. The stand is marked with an ISA sign. Due to the big crowd, the stand might be more difficult to access during the event. For easier access we recommend arriving earlier, before the event starts.
Arriving to the event area is easiest along Kirkkokatu street, from the direction of Kauppurienkatu street. When arriving from this direction, the route to the elevated stand is the shortest, and most likely less packed with people.

Ilmakitaransoiton MM-finaali 2025
Rauhaa ja rakkautta sekä maailmanluokan viihdettä – tätä on Ilmakitaransoiton MM-kisojen finaali!
Kenestä kruunataan ilmakitaransoiton maailmanmestari 2025? Maailmanmestaruus ratkaistaan jälleen Rotuaarin aukiolla perjantaina 22.8. klo 20.00 alkaen, kun kanadalainen Zach ”Ichabod Fame” Knowles palaa Ouluun puolustamaan mestaruuttaan! Voittaja palkitaan Matti ja Saara Nevalaisen uniikilla, käsintehdyllä Flying Finn -kitaralla.
Ilmakitaravuoden huipennus kokoaa kansainvälisen ilmakitaraverkoston jäsenmaiden mestarit, sekä edellisen illan Mustien hevosten karsinnasta jatkoon päässeet kilpailijat taistoon maailman ilmavimmasta tittelistä. Railakkaan MM-finaalin ytimessä ovat lukuisat ilmakitaraperformanssit – yllätysnumeroita ja oheisohjelmaa unohtamatta.
Tapahtuma hurmaa lämminhenkisen yhteisöllisellä tunnelmallaan ihmisiä ympäri maailmaa vuosittain. Tätä et halua missata!
MM-finaali alkaa klo 20 ja kestää noin 2 tuntia. Kilpailun päätteeksi kutsutaan perinteisesti kaikki ihmiset soittamaan ilmakitaraa yhtä aikaa Rockin’ in the Free Worldin tahtiin.

Tapahtuma on ikärajaton, mutta toivomme etenkin nuorempien lasten saapuvan paikalle vanhemman seurassa. Huomioithan, että Rotuaarin aukio voi olla tungokseen saakka täynnä.

ESTEETTÖMYYS
Rotuaarin aukiolla on Ilmakitaransoiton MM-kisojen finaalissa korotettu invakatsomo. Katsomo on merkitty ISA-tunnuksella. Tapahtuman aikana korokkeen saavutettavuus voi suuresta yleisömäärästä johtuen olla haasteellista, joten pyörätuolipaikoille kannattaa saapua hyvissä ajoin ennen tapahtuman alkua.
Suosittelemme saapumaan invakatsomoon Kirkkokatua pitkin Kauppurienkadun suunnasta. Tästä suunnasta tapahtuma-alueelle saavuttaessa reitti invakatsomoon on kaikkein lyhin, sekä todennäköisimmin väljempi.
