Join us as we ride in observance of World AIDS Day. While World AIDS Day is December 1st each year, we figured you were a little too stuffed with turkey and dressing to go on a ride the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. Join us as we ride in remembrance for those we have lost, in honor of those who live with HIV, and in hope for a future day when HIV/AIDS is no more.
We’ll start our ride meeting at the National AIDS Memorial Grove at the corner of Nancy Pelosi Drive and Bowling Green Drive in Golden Gate Park. After our pre-ride activites we’ll head through the Presidio and over to the Legion of Honr, then along Ocean Beach towards our rest stop. After the rest stop you can choose to either do the Lake Merced loop for more miles, or head on back to the National AIDS Memorial Grove.
The route is at: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/48815221/
All skill levels are welcome! If any ride is too much, we will work with you on making sure you have alternatives to the entire route. You will have a great bike ride. That’s a win! And remember, safety is critical. We will be following all bicycling laws and regulations.
Reach out with any of your questions or concerns. You really can do this.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP so we have an idea of who’s coming. Have questions? Contact Chris Starr at [email protected]
REQUIRED ITEMS: bike, helmet, water bottle(s), tire changing tools.
