Bio: Luca Brancazi is a researcher in medieval archaeology at Sapienza University of Rome. He specializes in archaeozoology, focusing on faunal remains from urban and rural contexts. His research addresses food consumption, dietary habits, butchery practices, waste deposits, and the archaeology of animal husbandry and food production to explore social and economic aspects of the past.
Abstract: The lecture presents a general overview of the current excavations at the Holy Sepulchre. It also includes some observations on the animal remains recovered during the investigations, with a focus on their documentation and analysis. The presentation offers a brief outline of the first results and possible directions for future research.
