Join us for the 2024 AIA Corpus Christi Code Academy!
Please join us for the 2024 Annual AIACC Code Academy. We are excited to have our presentation once again being led by ICC - The International Code Council. This year's presentation on the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) will provide participants the knowledge to increase the efficient use of energy in the construction of new buildings and alterations to existing buildings.
There will also be a early morning and lunch presentation along with breaks throughout the day that will provide you the time to meet each of the 2024 Code Academy Sponsors and check out their products. Early Morning and Lunch and Learn presenters TBA. There will also be "Door Prizes" throughout the day donated by our 2024 Booth Sponsors.
You will earn a total of 8 LU/HSW credits for the day.
We will start early with check-in available at 7:15, along with breakfast and the early morning CEU presentation beginning at 7:30AM followed by the first session from ICC presenter, Bill Hudson at 8:30AM. Lunch will be provided along with snacks during the afternoon and plenty of hot coffee throughout the day.
The Annual AIA Corpus Christi annual Code Academy, bringing in a large number of architect members of the AIACC chapter, as well as other built environment professionals through the region, provides 8 hours of continuing education credits necessary for architects to maintain their licensure.
Main Presentation Course Description
Participants will apply the critical concepts of the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code. These concepts provide a basis for the correct use of the code in the design, plan review, inspection, and analysis of projects. It will provide a clear understanding and correct use of the requirements identified by these basic code provisions, tables and categorizations. Participants will apply the code in clear-cut situations and build their understanding of the intent of the code when asked to make code compliance decisions.
Participants will be to apply the 2015 International Energy Conservation Code to increase the efficient use of energy in the construction of new buildings and alterations to existing buildings.
Course Objectives
Locate general topics in the 2015 IECC.
· Locate applicable tables in the 2015 IECC for specific situations.
· Apply code requirements to real-world situations.
· Explain the intent behind a code requirement.
· Identify borderline scenarios as compliant or noncompliant.
· Identify essential code components for designing energy-efficient building thermal envelopes; energy-efficient mechanical design principles; and electrical power and lighting systems.
