About this Event

A 3-Week Workshop to learn how to use AI safely and securely.
October 11, 18, and 25, 10:30-1:30 pm, for ages 12-17

Artificial Intelligence is changing the world – from art to communication to problem-solving. This hands-on, three-week workshop is perfect for curious teens who want to explore how AI works, use it to create amazing projects, and think about the big questions technology raises.

In partnership with experts from and funding from , students will get free access to powerful, open-source AI tools like Stable Diffusion (for digital art) and Ollama (for text generation). Together, we’ll explore how to use these tools responsibly, spark creativity, and even present what we’ve learned to our partners at the Alliance for Digital Equity – making teens the teachers and leaders of the future!

What to Expect:

  • Week 1: Hands-on AI art with Stable Diffusion + conversations about ethics and creative ownership.
  • Week 2: Learn to generate ideas, write stories, and solve problems using AI text tools like Ollama.
  • Week 3: Install AI tools safely on a personal laptop (provided), independently and not relying on big tech companies, and prepare to share your new skills and insights in a final showcase.

Students will leave with:
✅ AI skills they can use right away
✅ A deeper understanding of how technology shapes our lives
✅ Confidence to advocate for responsible tech use in their communities
✅ A real experience presenting their work to local leaders

>> Laptops and all supplies will be provided.

>> Pizza lunch is included.

>> Students must be willing to be photographed so we can share their projects and inspire others.
