The SWC CPR and First Aid Program and UCLA Residential Life are proud to present its annual event: SuperCPR! Exclusive to, and FREE for, all Hill residents, SuperCPR is a daylong event where we will discuss important aspects of basic emergency response, specifically in the context of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). The event will culminate in an official 2-year American Heart Association certification for all participating students in Heartsaver CPR and AED for adults, children, and infants. There will also be food for lunch, some awesome giveaways, and more!

To register for RSVP, there are two steps:

1. Purchase an RSVP ticket for $10. The money will be refunded to you in full via Eventbrite within a week of the event, upon your attendance to the event.

2. As this event is catered by UCLA dining, you'll also be required to give one swipe to register, to provide lunch for you. To donate your swipe, you must submit the swipe donation form listed above that will first have you log on via your myUCLA credentials, and ask for your name, UID, meal plan, and the number of swipes you'd like to donate. As an RSVP ticket holder, YOU MUST DONATE AT LEAST 1 SWIPE TO BE REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT! If you don't do so, your spot will not be held, and we will not consider you registered for the event! You are also more than welcome to donate more than 1, and we are greatly appreciative of any additional donations!

IMPORTANT: Please take a screenshot of your successful donation message after completing the swipe donation form and email it to [email protected]. Your signup will not be complete without it!

NOTE: If you are a regular meal plan holder with an RSVP ticket who has filled out the swipe donation form, this means you will NOT be able to swipe during the brunch meal period of May 5.

According to the American Heart Association, the Heartsaver CPR course is “designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory, or other requirements.” We highly encourage all members of our community to pursue this basic CPR training, especially those who work in large public places or those who spend much time with multiple age ranges. Students practice as they learn under the observation of the instructors, which allows them to receive feedback and guidance. At the end of the four-hour class, students will need to pass skills examinations for both adult/child and infant CPR to receive their certification.

  • High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
  • The AHA Chain of Survival
  • Use of an AED
  • Choking relief for adults, children, and infants

Refund policy:

Refunds for RSVP tickets will be allowed until Sunday, April 28th at 5:00 pm. You can request a refund via Eventbrite and we will refund you the $10 reservation fee as long as it's before the deadline. However, if you request a refund and want your swipes refunded as well, you must request a refund by April 21st, 5:00 pm to get both your money and swipes refunded. On the other hand, if you have already reserved a spot and filled out the swipe donation form, and decide you cannot attend the event AFTER the refund deadline, you CANNOT get a refund and the swipes you designated WILL be deducted from your meal plan. Therefore, please let us know as far in advance as possible if you need a refund!

*Note: the AHA Heartsaver CPR AED certification is NOT equivalent to the AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If you need a BLS certification, please sign up for a BLS class instead.
