Art & Horse Assisted Healing & EmpowermentALL ARE WELCOME! No Art or Horse experience is needed. Come as you are!

$125 All art supplies and horses provided.
Bring your own lunch (water & snacks provided)
Minimum 3 participants.
Facilitated by Korynn Amm, local artist, published poet, and Master level Counseling intern; Stacey Garcelon M.Ed. NCC & the Anam Cara team with trauma-informed principles, Trauma-focused Equine-assisted psychotherapy, and collective decades of art, mental health, & horse experience.
Agenda:
10:00 - 10:30 am: Participant arrival time, welcome, housekeeping, Brief Guided meditation to Regulate our nervous system, then we'll Relate with one another via introductions and gathering themes to be used throughout the workshop.
10:30 - 11:00 am: Reason: Trauma education: what is trauma? How does it affect the brain & body and what can we do to heal and empower ourselves.
11:00 - 11:15 am: Comfort break/snacks/water
11:15 - 12:30 pm: Art & Horses: create/express goals for individual trauma healing, then join the horses in a facilitated session to deepen insight and awareness of this goal.
1:00: LUNCH with discussion about empowerment: what does it mean?
2:00 – 3:00 pm: Horses & Art: explore empowerment with the herd, then return to the art to see if anything needs to change or create a new piece based on insights and awareness from horse experiences.
3:00 – 4:00 pm: Sharing/Closure

Trauma-Focused Equine-Assisted Services Model:
1. Team approach Local Artist Korynn Amm, Mental Health Professional Stacey Garcelon, LMHCA, NCC, Equine Specialists Chad Pressler and/or Corissa Clinard and a herd of horses and mini donkeys. (goats & cats are also on the farm)
2. Ground based (no riding or horsemanship needed)
3. Solution oriented (participants find their own solutions)
4. Ethics (we are governed by professional ethics)
