The University of East Anglia (UEA) is delighted to be hosting the fifth AgriFoRwArdS Annual Conference in July 2024.
The conference will take place on 22nd and 23rd July 2024 and will be held at UEA's Enterprise Centre, a building at the cutting edge of sustainable design.

In addition to keynote speakers and presenters, there will be presentations and panel discussions led by current AgriFoRwArdS students at all institutions: Cambridge University, Lincoln University, and University of East Anglia itself. Poster displays in the foyer will be contributed by MSc students at Lincoln University. A full conference programme is forthcoming and will be published on this page.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the conference, with a classic buffet lunch provided on the first day. The conference will conclude at lunch time on Day Two, and a premium packed lunch will be provided to take away and enjoy. We have ample water fountains on campus and would encourage you to bring a water bottle. Tea, coffee, and bottled water will also be available throughout the conference. We will be able to make use of a delightful roof terrace at the Enterprise Centre, should the sun decide to shine.
Conference Drinks Reception and Dinner, Monday 22nd July 2024
Hosted at the University of East Anglia's award-winning Sainsbury Centre, the evening social event will include a Drinks Reception with prosecco / cordial and canapés, followed by a three course Conference Dinner. The Sainsbury Centre is situated within the UEA's Sculpture Park, set within 350 acres of beautiful parkland.

Evening Social Event, Monday 22nd July 2024, The Sainsbury Centre, UEA
The Evening Social Event consists of two parts, a Drinks Reception and a Conference Dinner. If you wish to attend both, please select the combined option to your ticket. The Drinks Reception will include a glass of prosecco or cordial, as well as a selection of vegan and vegetarian canapés. This part of the evening will commence at 6pm and should be an excellent occasion to network.
Guests will be invited to sit down for the Conference Dinner at 7.30pm. Wine and bottled water (still and sparkling) will be provided, with all food and drink sourced from local, sustainable and seasonal sources wherever possible. There will also be a paying bar for those who wish to purchase further drinks of their choice later in the evening.
When purchasing your ticket you will be asked to select your menu choices for the Conference Dinner once you progress to your basket. There will be space to comment upon any specific dietary requirements you may have, as well as special requests. The choices are listed below.
Starter choices:
- Wild mushroom arancini, truffle aioli, rocket, parmesan (vegetarian)
- Chargrilled asparagus, roasted garlic, toasted sourdough, spring onion, basil oil (vegan)
Main choices:
- Diaper farm chicken, mash, asparagus, baby leeks, roast chicken jus (meat)
- Tikka aubergine chickpea dahl, bhuna sauce, saffron rice (vegan)
Dessert choices:
- Norfolk apple pie, rum & raisin ice cream, creme anglaise, crystallised white chocolate (vegetarian)
- Plant power strawberry pavlova, strawberry ripple ice cream, wild strawberry sauce (vegan)
Broadview Lodge Accommodation, Monday 22nd July 2024

Accessible rooms are available on request. A voucher to purchase a light breakfast at UEA's campus cafe Zest will also be provided to guests upon checking in.
Broadview Lodge Accommodation, Sunday 21st July 2024
We are offering students at Lincoln and Cambridge the ability to stay at Broadview Lodge on Sunday 21st July as well as Monday 22nd July. Please select a ticket for the Sunday night too if you are a student at Lincoln or Cambridge and you would like to attend the conference. Coach travel will be organised on the Sunday afternoon from Cambridge and Lincoln Universities. Breakfast vouchers will also be provided for the Monday morning.
Please note: a small number of rooms are available for non-students on Sunday 21st July. Please select this as a non-student add-on if you would like accommodation on the Sunday. Breakfast is included in the price.
Student Social, Sunday 21st July 2024
A student social will be organised on the Sunday for all students (Cambridge, Lincoln, and UEA) following registration. Please select 'Student Social' as an add on if you would like to attend. Parking is available on campus, although we would encourage people to travel by public transport to the university. There are regular bus services to and from Norwich and the journey takes approximately only 20 minutes. Free parking is available for Broadview View guests once they have checked in after 3pm.
Norwich and beyond
Should you have the time, you may wish to explore the beautiful and historic city of Norwich, only a short 20 minute bus ride from UEA. This UNESCO City of Literature is host to many bustling independent cafes, restaurants and shops and has one of the largest numbers of medieval churches in Europe. Further afield, North Norfolk's famous coastline and to the East, the Norfolk Broads, offer ample opportunity for leisure and relaxation. We highly recommend exploring!
